We are currently working on a kitchen remodel project, and countertops are both an integral part of the design, and a tricky choice for our customers. Today, we are sharing the pros and cons of four of the most popular materials trending today. There are so many other materials that are also great choices…concrete, copper, recycled glass, etc, but if we covered all of them, it would make for a lengthy read!

In addition to choosing your material, you also need to think about whether you would like a high gloss finish, or a honed (matte) finish. Of course, the type of edge (beveled, flat, etc) is yet another decision.
So, let’s talk about cost. It really depends…this is where it gets very muddled. They all come in a price range depending on the grade, so they overlap somewhat. You can expect to pay anywhere from $100-$250 per sq foot. One way to save, is to ask if they have scraps. This might be an option for bathrooms, laundry room etc, when you don’t need many pieces.
And what about stain resistance, scratch resistance and maintenance?
With so many options and decisions to be made, we hope we have helped clarify the pros and cons, so that you can narrow down your choices!
Cheers Y’all!
