Each project brings a different set of needs and tastes and that makes our job so much fun! One of our current projects is a townhome and the customer’s main request is for timeless design. She doesn’t want to have to repaint her house in 5-10 years, which is completely understandable! Leslie and I are recommending a dreamy white paint color for most of the interior. We are also recommending that she switch from her cherry cabinets in her kitchen to white. White is the most timeless color. A white kitchen transcends all trends and white cabinets never go out of style. Below is the feel we are going for.
Below is a current photo of the bookcase area just off the foyer. We decided to start here and then work into the dining room, kitchen and hearth room.
Currently the home has lots of yellow/gold and red tones…typical of the late 1990’s decor. Leslie and I have been pulling ideas together and working on colors. We would like to see some fun color in this space since the walls are going to be a nice, warm, bright white. Below is are some swatch ideas. We chose Thibaut fabric and custom color Clairebella swatches.
Coordinating fabrics in different patterns and colors makes it interesting. And below is our mood board that we will present to our client. Grasscloth wallpaper will add a great pop of color to her bookcases. And leopard is a great neutral that will add warmth (and fun) to this space.
Fingers crossed that she says yes and we can move along to other rooms!
